well done to all SF reps in this election. ...Gerry
well done to all SF reps in this election. It has been a great campaign by all. Our votes has gone from 120,000 to over 220,000 we need to tap into this and ask people to dig deep in terms of funding and also in pushing our paper. Each area runs monthly draws ,people can help in a small way by buying tickets in their local cumann draws. A big thank you to the women of canvassers and the men for their unfaltering supporttesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03631194161725969945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004730508631468243.post-34939604316199302262011-02-28T13:55:45.227+00:002011-02-28T13:55:45.227+00:00What I don't understand, is the number of seat...What I don't understand, is the number of seats given to Fianna Fail. I don't understand how with the overwhelming evidence, anyone with any self respect and sense of national identity can vote for them.
I am saddened to see the point scoring, tribal warfare. I am saddened to see the lack of imagination on all sides. The lack of a straight talker. The people seemed to accept the inevitable when it isn't inevitable. Ireland as a nation needs a psychologist. Perhaps a forum of truth and justice, where everyone can go and talk about how they have been messed over by sucessive governments, get it off their chest. Until Irish people start feeling good about themselves they won't find the motivation to change for the positive. Well done on the seats won. Well done on the TV interviews.
Colm MaguireAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004730508631468243.post-47636883919245003802011-02-27T01:57:57.322+00:002011-02-27T01:57:57.322+00:00Hi Gerry, Great victory for you and the rest of th...Hi Gerry, Great victory for you and the rest of the Sinn Fein team. We've got the exact same problems, as you know, in the US, and it's hard to find anyone who wants to hear--or speak--the truth about corruption and how it affects ordinary people. We've got one Senator--yep, only one--who speaks out the way you do, and his name is Bernie Sanders from Vermont. He's hardly ever invited to the pundit shows, 'cause our corporate media is controlled by the "industrialists, bankers, developers, speculators" and other elitists who buy advertising.

I'm off to a rally in support of the striking workers in Wisconsin, and will check back tomorrow to see how the counting is coming along. Best wishes to you, Gerry, for a big win in Louth.James and Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07218500299320351426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004730508631468243.post-19467812923288563482011-02-26T01:53:07.054+00:002011-02-26T01:53:07.054+00:00Thank-You Gerry,
A very true and good post, you ...Thank-You Gerry,
A very true and good post, you set it right in a word:Corruption.
This burdened by entrenched obstacles to true political reform falls on to the backs of genuine republican politics. One can reflect on a corrupt civil society as well as a corrupt state. The Irish people will emerge in solidarity in this momnent in history. One way to gauge levels of government corruption,is how long can a nations people support it. Despite its long history of producing famously principled political figures, the image and the truth can not be processed in the wake of reality.
Ireland must focuses on rooting out corruption(Is cuma nó muc duine gan seift.),and start on the road to a politically organized body in service to its citizens. Thanks Gerry again for your long hours of service to the Irish nation-Molann an obair an fear- good works GerryTimothy Doughertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03626399091447383952noreply@blogger.com
